Carlo Ghezzi
I am a Professor and Chair of Software Engineering in the Department of Electronics and Information of Politecnico di Milano. I am the Rector's delegate for research, past member of the Academic Senate and of the Board of Governors, and past Department Chair. I received the following awards: ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow, SIGSOFT Distinguished Service Award, member of the Italian Academy of Sciences (Istituto Lombardo). I am a member-at-large of the ACM Council. I previously served as a member of the ACM Nominating Committee, and member of the committee for the ACM Software Systems Award. I have been on the evaluation board of several international research projects and institutions in Europe, Japan, and the USA. I am presently a member of the editorial board of the IEEE Trans. on Software Engineering, Communications of the ACM, Science of Computer Programming, Service Oriented Computing and Applications, and Software Process Improvement and Practice.
Research Interests
My research has been focusing on software engineering and programming languages. Currently, I am is especially interested in methods and tools to improve dependability of adaptable and evolvable distributed applications, such as service-oriented architectures and ubiquitous/pervasive computer applications. I have recently been funded by the European Research Council under the prestigious "Advanced Grants" program for a research on Self-Managing Situated Computing".
